Multi-stakeholder agreements

This project examines national multi-stakeholder agreements on energy and climate policy as part of the transition to a low-carbon economy and society such as those undertaken in the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden. In particular the Dutch Energy Agreement, Energieakkoord, will be explored. This was signed in 2013 by the government with employers, trade unions, environmental organisations and others and facilitated by the Dutch Council. This work will identify the drivers, characteristics and processes in the development of these agreements, with a view to gaining further understanding as to their potential value as strategic tools for the low carbon transition.
