On Wednesday 13th May, the National Economic and Social Council (NESC) hosted an in-person roundtable on the implementation of Ireland’s Well-Being Framework. The event brought together 20 participants, including representatives from government departments and agencies, civil society, and research experts with a team from the NESC Secretariat.

NESC convened this session as part of a consultation process to inform its work on the implementation of Well-being Framework, as requested by the Department of the Taoiseach. Ireland’s First Report on a Well-being Framework, initially developed in 2021, was informed by NESC consultation and advice.

The focus of the Roundtable was to consider the practical delivery of the Framework and reflect on implementation strengths and weaknesses, identifying priority areas for development.

Themes and issues raised at the Roundtable will inform the final report to be completed by the end of August 2026.
