NESC@50 Conference – A Thriving Ireland: Foundations & Actions

This year NESC is marking its 50th anniversary. That’s five decades of conducting research, engaging in dialogue and providing advice to the Irish Government on the most pressing issues affecting the country: private rental, well-being frameworks, just transition, shared island and more. Our strategic long-term analysis of Ireland’s overall standing has always been in the service of sustainable economic, social and environmental development, as we strive to achieve “A Thriving Ireland”.

But what exactly does a thriving Ireland mean? What would it even look like? And is it something that can be made a reality in our lifetime?

On 23rd November these questions will be explored during our NESC@50 Conference at The Printworks in Dublin Castle. We will be bringing together some of the top academic minds and policy experts from here and abroad, for a series of lively debates on Ireland’s recent past and the lessons we can take from it to shape our collective future for the better. Also joining us on the day will be current and ex-Council members, young people and other special guests, as we celebrate NESC, its work and its influence on modern Irish life and society since 1973. We hope you will be in a position to attend and join in the discussions as well.

This event is now fully booked, but you can still sign up to the waitlist on the Eventbrite page here.
