The report looks at the role of public services in meeting the needs of households where the adults are either not in work, or work less than 20 per cent of their time.  The information in the report is based on 92 interviews carried out in 2016 and 2017 with low work intensity households, service providers, and employers in a disadvantaged suburb of Dublin; and with regional managers, national decision makers in Government departments and agencies, and national stakeholders. The learning from the report is relevant for welfare and employment support services, for further education and training providers, for employers and employees and their representatives, and for those supporting childcare, housing and health needs.
